Easley avoids wrecking car ‘by the skin of his teeth’

That’s racin’: Gov. Mike Easley climbed into a stock car at the Executive Mansion Tuesday, blasted out of the driveway and promptly lost control of his No. 48 Lowe’s Monte Carlo.

The race car, normally driven by Jimmie Johnson, ended up askew against a curb on Lane Street.
