In addition to the Fitzsimon File commentary, our new site includes key stories about state policy from newspapers across the state and daily radio commentaries from the North Carolina News Network.

You will also have the chance to join the debate yourself by commenting on the views expressed in “Your Soapbox.”  You can see the latest rating of the performance of the General Assembly on our Legislative Meter and check out a weekly editorial cartoon. Important policy news from other organizations will be posted often in the “Read This” section. Other regular features will be “Hero of the Week” and “Money Talks,” a focus on how big money is influencing decisions made by our elected officials.

You will have the opportunity to take part in online polls and find a schedule of important upcoming events. The left side of the page provides up to date links to newspapers, radio and television stations, columnists, state government sites and policy organizations in North Carolina.

We want to know what you think of the new site and welcome any ideas you have to improve it.  Email your thoughts to [email protected].

Our stories may be republished online or in print under Creative Commons license CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. We ask that you edit only for style or to shorten, provide proper attribution and link to our web site. Please see our republishing guidelines for use of photos and graphics.
