RALEIGH | North Carolina’s lottery became law Wednesday, but it may be six months or more before the first ticket is sold.

Meanwhile, estimates by General Assembly analysts showed that if the state game sells $1 billion in tickets each year, it would mean $3.5 million a year for New Hanover County to build new schools. (more…)
