Did anyone get an invitation to Adam and Steve’s wedding that’s coming up in Currituck County?
No? Well, no surprise. That’s because Adam and Steve can’t get married in Currituck County. Neither can Eve and Stephanie. The rules on the books, since 1996, clearly state that people of the same sex cannot marry each other in the state of North Carolina.
In other words, like it or not, the North Carolina Legislature settled that issue nine years ago. (more…)
