One big happy family again

Sen. DoleNow that Sen. Dole has taken a position against the OLF, North Carolina stands united in its opposition to the Navy’s plan. Sen. Dole sits on the Armed Services Committee, so she has her hand on the Navy’s purse string which gives her voice added weight.

Many of us resent Sen. Dole for taking so long to recognize that the Washington and Beaufort county site is the wrong place for a landing field for many reasons. We have questioned Sen. Dole’s motivations andNo OLF loyalties, asking if she really cared about North Carolinians. We even went so far as to wonder if she was the best person to represent North Carolina in the Senate. Some of those questions remain but this is not the time to press for answers. Right now, we should embrace Sen. Dole as a member of our state family and express our appreciation for her support in the fight against the OLF.
