- The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and the Economic Policy Institute, non partisan research organizations in Washington, D.C. will release a new report later this week examining income trends.

The NC Budget & Tax Center will release a new report on Thursday calling for a study that defines what is necessary to provide all children in NC with a sound, basic education and the cost of the programs and total cost to satisfy that constitutionally proscribed responsibility. Context is the Public School Funding Formula Committee, continuing achievement gap between white and minority, low income family and higher income family students, and evidence that poor and minority children receive inadequate funding from state and local governments to provide them with a sound, basic education.
- The Arc of North Carolina is concerned about the lack of standardized TASER use policy as it relates to people with developmental, cognitive, physical and mental disabilities. We have been working with the ACLU and other like minded organizations to promote a best practices approach to TASER use that recognizes that people with disabilities are at significant risk when TASERs are deployed. Their TASER Safety Project Report will be released at a press conference 10am, Thursday at the Mental Health Association of NC at 1331 Sunday Drive, Raleigh.
- After four years of dynamic leadership, Melissa Reed will be leaving the position of Executive Director at NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina in April. Reed will continue to serve an advisory role, and advocate for women’s reproductive freedom in the state.
